Nancy Moriber, PhD, CRNA, FAANA is a nationally recognized nurse anesthesiology educator, scholar, author, and clinician whose career has been dedicated to advancing the science and practice of nurse anesthesia. She served for more than two decades as Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Fairfield University, where she educated and mentored generations of nurse anesthetists while helping shape the evolution of doctoral-level nurse anesthesia education.

Dr. Moriber is widely respected for her expertise in anesthesia pharmacology and physiology and is known for her ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clinically meaningful knowledge for students and practicing clinicians alike. She has authored and contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and educational resources that have influenced nurse anesthesia education across the United States.

She has authored in the renowned Nagelhout Nurse Anesthesia textbook, one of the most widely used and respected references in the specialty. Her commitment to professional service is reflected in her leadership roles within organized nurse anesthesiology, including serving as President of the Connecticut Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists, a site reviewer for the COA, an editor for numerous journals including the AANA Journal, and is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology.

John C. Welch, DNP, MS, CRNA, FAANA, FAAN

John C. Welch, DNP, MS, CRNA, FAANA, FAAN is the Founding Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Track at The Ohio State University College of Nursing and the former Founding Director of the Pediatric Nurse Anesthesia Fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, where he helped establish one of the nation's premier fellowship programs for pediatric nurse anesthetists.

Dr. Welch is an Associate Clinical Professor at Ohio State, a Senior Nurse Anesthetist in the Division of Cardiac Anesthesia at Boston Children's Hospital, and Senior Director of Clinical Systems for Partners In Health, where he leads clinical systems development and capacity-building initiatives in resource-limited settings globally. His career spans clinical practice, education, health systems leadership, global health, and policy, providing a uniquely broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing contemporary healthcare.

A recognized leader in nurse anesthesia education, Dr. Welch has been instrumental in developing innovative educational programs, expanding access to advanced practice education, and preparing the next generation of nurse anesthetists to lead in increasingly complex healthcare environments. His clinical expertise includes pediatric and congenital cardiac anesthesia, while his scholarly interests encompass patient safety, human factors engineering, health equity, perioperative systems improvement, and global workforce development.

Beyond academia and clinical practice, Dr. Welch has held leadership roles in large-scale public health and humanitarian responses, including directing clinical operations during the West African Ebola epidemic and leading statewide COVID-19 contact tracing initiatives. He is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) and the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (FAANA).
